Improving Comfort and Workspace for Faculty, Staff, and Students at Bishop Blanchet High School

Overview

Bishop Blanchet High School is currently operating at full capacity, with all classrooms in use during most periods. As a result, the faculty/staff lounge and library have become key areas for faculty/staff to gather, collaborate, and prepare for their lessons. To better support our faculty/staff in these shared spaces, we aim to enhance the comfort and functionality of the library and faculty/staff lounge, fostering a more productive and welcoming environment for our faculty/staff. 

By incorporating flexible furniture, and modern kitchen amenities in our faculty/staff lounge, we will create a more inviting space that encourages collaboration, relaxation, and efficiency, ultimately benefiting both faculty/staff

To further support our students' learning, we also recognize the need to improve our library space, a space also used by our faculty/staff. By reimagining the layout and updating our  furniture, we can create distinct zones for group work, independent study, and relaxation. More ergonomic seating and a modern layout will allow students to focus and collaborate effectively. Additionally, integrating quiet areas with comfortable seating will give students a retreat for reading, homework or reflection, promoting a balanced and engaging learning environment. This approach will not only enhance functionality but also contribute to a positive and dynamic atmosphere for students, faculty/staff.

Funding Breakdown

• Furniture Upgrades: New ergonomic chairs, desks, and lounge seating for the library and faculty/staff  lounge. 

• Kitchenette update - expanding the size, adding more appliances, preparation space, and more comfortable eating areas
