Help us bring the light to BBHS by donating to the 2023 SHINE Fund A Need

Solar Panels!

Over the summer, BBHS will be replacing the existing roof, believe it or not this is the original roof from 1954!  We are excited to share that after the roof is replaced, we will be installing solar panels! This project will be the focus for our 2023 Fund A Need at our SHINE event on Saturday, March 11th!

Being aware of your carbon footprint and seeking out clean alternative energy like solar is becoming more common. In our new strategic plan under: “Enhancing Institutional Sustainability,” one of our objectives is to identify environmentally sustainable campus improvements and include the students in this planning process. Involving them in this process gives them ownership and a sense of giving back to the community that has given them so much. With that being said, we are working with the AP Environmental Science class, Green Team and science teacher Mrs. Andrea Seeley to make our video for this year’s Fund A Need.

The long-term efficiency that solar provides can more than offset the initial investment, leading to savings for years to come. However solar power can be an expensive proposition, especially with the upfront costs. The future of green energy is here and your gift will help us realize solar power, and become a leader in fighting climate change. This will allow Blanchet to focus on taking care of its students and employees, instead of the electric bill!
